Founded in 1958, Churchill College is the National and Commonwealth Memorial to Sir Winston Churchill. Nobel Prize winners Francis Crick, discoverer of the structure of DNA, and Anthony Hewish, the discoverer of the pulsar, were amongst its founding Fellows.
The Dining Hall is open daily during the following hours:
Breakfast: 07:30 – 09:30
Self-service lunch: 12:00 – 14:00
Self-service dinner: 17:45 – 19:15
Please note this is not self-catering accommodation, the student kitchen facilities are not for external guests.
The spacious grounds are home to an extensive collection of contemporary sculptures from a variety of well-known artists. They provide the perfect backdrop for an hour or two relaxing in the sun with a cool drink and a good book.
Additional facilities for residents include on-site laundry, an all-day bar and café (subject to some restricted opening times) and sports facilities including squash and tennis courts and a multi-gym. Sports equipment, hair dryers can all be borrowed from the Porters' Lodge. Irons/ironing board can be found within the Laundry facilities. WiFi is available via the UniOfCam-Guest network. When connecting via this network you will be asked to register by email. Once you have done this, you will be sent an email and asked to confirm the request. If you do not have access to your emails to confirm the registration, please ask for a WiFi ticket at the Porters’ Lodge. There are designated outside smoking areas in College, please ask the Lodge upon arrival. Smoking in the bedroom is prohibited and a £100.00 fine appies if not adhered to.
Churchill delivered what I wanted and expected, a comfortable and convenient room. The shower was excellent and everything worked. The lunch and dinner meals offered a reasonable choice, were good and great value. Very happy with the two days and would certainly stay in college again. KevinN

Excellent college (Churchill) in which to stay. The room was spacious and comfortable, as well as being light and airy. The college grounds are magnificent. Food tasty and extremely good value. The porters - front of house! - are just the best! PhilipE

Staff at Porters Lodge very nice and resourceful and helped me mend my shoe with great enthusiasm! You are the best! Bathroom radiator and towel-dryer didn't work. Bathroom was really cold. Room was warm though. Proper breakfast served! AndersS

Churchill College is 1960s comfortable- large room, large windows, acres of lawn. Very convenient for meetings on West Cambridge site and a reasonable walk to thcentre of Cambridge. Good varied breakfast with excellent croissants. 匿名

Room clean and comfy. No hot food at breakfast during term time but good choice of cereals, fresh fruit, pastries etc. Lunch good and excellent value. All staff helpful and friendly. 匿名

We have stayed at Churchill a few times now and cannot fault it, ideal for getting out and about in Cambridge, just a 10 minute walk to the city centre. 匿名

Both Check-In and Check-Out are dealt with at the Porters' Lodge. Check-In is available from 15:00 anytime, Check-Out time is 10:00. Rooms not vacated by 10:00am on the day of departure will be charged a £30.00 late check-out fee. Lost key replacement charge is £30.00.
There is plentiful free parking on site. However, please note spaces cannot be reserved, it operates on a first come first serve basis.
From the City Centre
Storey's Way is the second turning on the right as you come out of Cambridge along the Madingley Road to the M11 and A428. This junction is marked with a traffic island in the middle of the road. Turn into Storey's Way and Churchill College is on the left.
Arriving by Rail
Cambridge railway station has a frequent service from London Kings Cross, the Midlands and the North and a direct link from Stansted Airport, as well as plentiful local services. Cambridge railway station is situated only 2 miles from Churchill College.
Arriving by Bus
The Citi 4 bus stops near the College on Madingley Road. (https://www.stagecoachbus.com/routes/east/4/cambourne-cambridge/xeao004.i)
