Visión general

El campus de Colchester de la Universidad de Essex ofrece alojamiento moderno con baño privado en un pintoresco parque de 81 hectáreas. El parque fue diseñado originalmente en el siglo XVIII y pintado por el célebre artista John Constable. El campus se estructura en torno a cinco plazas compactas y animadas, y con tiendas, un animado mercado callejero, restaurantes, bancos, un teatro e incluso una peluquería, es posible vivir sin salir del campus. Comida y bebida

The residence offers room only, B&B and full board options (for full board options, please enquire separately). Guests that book a room only package and wish to use the shared kitchen space and utensils should specify this in the additional information section of the booking form at the time of booking.

Guests who book the bed and breakfast option will receive a meal voucher which can be used in a variety of on-campus outlets, serving both cooked and continental breakfast options. An example of on-campus outlets include:

Canteen is a traditional offer with wholesome freshly-cooked favourite dishes from around the world.

Buffalo Joe’s is an American-style diner complete with its own free-play Wurlitzer jukebox. It offers a range of favourites including burgers, fries, buttermilk chicken, veggie options, freshly made salads and tasty wraps.

Blue’s Café provides a salad bar, jacket potatoes, soups and stews, including vegetarian options.

Food on the Square provides a selection of noodles and rice available at lunchtimes on square 3.

The campus is located in the historic, 200-acre Wivenhoe Park. The park was originally landscaped in the eighteenth century and was painted by celebrated artist John Constable. Today, the striking landscape provides a tranquil place for all to enjoy.

Your key/s can be collected at the Art Exchange Building which is open between 7:45am and 9:30pm, 7 days a week.

Outside of these hours your key/s will be left at the 24 hour Information Centre located in Square 3.

Directions:

By car:

There is good access to Colchester from all parts of the country via the A12, M25 and A14. Colchester is just off the A12. From London and south Essex, take the Colchester (A133) exit. From Ipswich, take the Colchester (A1232) exit. Please follow roadside signage to the Colchester Campus. Sat Nav: Please use CO7 9HT and turn right into the main University entrance.

Parking:

There is free car parking provided on-site for all guests at the property. Parking permits will be sent to guests upon booking.

By Train:

There are frequent trains from London Liverpool Street to Colchester (also known as Colchester North). The journey takes just under an hour. The nearest station is Hythe (Essex) which is a 20-minute walk from campus, train services to this station are less frequent.

By Coach, Bus or Taxi:

National Express coaches run services to the campus and Colchester from London and airports.

First Bus provides most bus services around Colchester.

Hedingham also provides services to the University.

The Panther X15 service is also available.

There is a taxi rank at Colchester Station and in the town centre (High Street). The journey to the University normally takes about 10-20 minutes.

Airport Express provides airport transfers to and from the University

There a number of wheelchair accessible taxis in Colchester. It is recommended that you call to check availability and suitability before travelling.

Travelling from Airports and Ferry port:

London Stansted, Heathrow and Gatwick airports: The campus is not far from Stansted Airport, the quickest way to travel is by coach. If you are arriving at Heathrow or Gatwick, there is a bookable public coach service run by National Express.

Harwich International Port: The campus is only 30 minutes by car from the port.
